Senior Software Applications Engineer
|
Purpose of Job: To develop and rapidly prototype GIS workflow solutions based upon customer requirements and to participate in planning to tailor Geospace/PCI software for customer applications. Solutions to be based upon PCI and ESRI technologies demonstrating the power of automation and advanced tools. Responsibilities include briefing customers and assisting the sales cycle and transitioning the proposed/accepted solution into development. In the case of smaller developments requiring configuration via a PCI Geomatics software development kit, the solutions engineer may be required to perform the development work. This is a growth position that is considered key to the success of the company.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Generate briefings and whitepapers of various levels of depth suitable to brief customers ranging from the working engineer level to the CEO.
- Rapidly prototype GIS workflows to demonstrate capabilities to current and potential customers. Work to build and develop a solid relationship with the Marketing and Sales support teams as well as with engineering.
- Deliver presentations, and lead meetings with prospects and clients to secure new business.
- Consult with prospects and clients to analyze and understand the client's business needs and determine which products, solutions and services best-fit requirements.
- Work with the Sales Support Team to develop business proposals.
- Work with the software development team to specify top level requirements and features to enhance existing and products and solutions, or to create new ones.
- Adhere to company procedures, processes, and quality standards.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Geomatics, Computer Science or related field
- 6-8 years (minimum) experience in an engineering development environment.
- Awareness of GIS market and product offerings of competitors.
- Knowledge of PCI Geomatics products and solutions is an asset
- Knowledge of ESRI products and solutions and GIS applications is desirable.
- Familiarity with defense, homeland security and intelligence applications involving geospatial products, solutions and services is desirable.
- Experience as a software developer in Java, C, C++ or C# and experience with Windows .NET and Visual Studio are considered pluses for interfacing with the software development team.

- Able to effectively manage multiple priorities
- Ability to cope with pressures associated with meeting deadlines, sales targets, and travel schedules.
- U.S. Citizenship
- Secret or higher level DoD clearance, or ability to be cleared.
- Ability to travel extensively.
