This is a challenging opportunity to help our customers participate in a societal GIS in which stakeholders utilize shared distributed GIS services based on a framework of common standards and policies.

The Team:
A career on the Professional Services and Consulting team provides you the opportunity to collaborate with our customers to support innovative database and applications development, SOA, and enterprise software solutions. The variety of project work enables you to use your software development, database engineering, GIS expertise, and project management skills in a number of growing markets such as natural resources, commercial, government, utilities, and defense. Most positions are based at our headquarters in Redlands, California and our regional office in Washington, D.C.; however, opportunities are also available in other locations.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of innovative SDI solutions using ESRI’s enterprise GIS technology.
Work with the ESRI marketing, sales, and business development teams to develop Professional Services opportunities within the SDI market.
Develop implementation plans including scope, budget, and schedule for multi-year SDI initiatives.
Design and implement standards as they apply to framework data models, metadata, content, accuracy, quality standards, data production systems, and portals.
Lead project teams and manage contract deliverables through the application of planning, tracking, change control, quality control, and risk management techniques.
Provide user requirements and technical feedback to ESRI’s software product development team.
Lead and contribute to proposal development efforts.
Communicate with department and division managers about strategic opportunities and project risks.
Requirements:
Bachelors, masters, or Ph.D. in relevant field, depending upon position level.
Knowledge of ongoing SDI standards and activities and a minimum of eight years of significant experience developing SDIs such as the United States NSDI and the European INSPIRE programs.
Knowledge of desktop and Web-based GIS technologies, enterprise software architectures including service-oriented architecture (SOA), Open Geospatial Consortium specifications, and the ISO 19000-series standards.
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage consulting teams, software development teams, and large scale projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present to senior executives.
Recommended Qualifications:
10-plus years of significant proven domain experience.
Experience using ESRI products to solve complex business problems.
Knowledge of RDBMS technologies.
U.S. citizenship and ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance.
